Dr. West was born in Winston-Salem, NC and moved to Atlanta at a very early age. He graduated from Clemson University and attended Medical College of Georgia from 1982-1986. He did his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga, TN at Erlanger Hospital. 

Dr. West started in private practice in 1989 at Perimeter North Internal Medicine. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine. 

Dr. West is a National/Regional speaker in topics of hypertension and hyperlipidema. He is the Medical Director of Perimeter North Medical Research Center. 

He enjoys hunting, fishing, and traveling. He and his wife Patty with their three children reside in Alpharetta.
